Chillin' with the herd
A couple months ago, my family rescued a mini donkey Jenny named Rosie. We were told she was 14 years old and had been exposed to a Jack, so we had our vet take a blood test to see if she is pregnant, the results came back positive, but they didn't know how far along she was. She is in very bad shape, and the vet said that she is actually in her early 20s! She almost foundered... our farrier is working on her and she over-all looks very bad. She's very depressed and always has her head down in a corner, and won't pay attention to our yearling, Jasper. The guy we got her from said he thought she was due this spring, but obviously she was not, and then he called and told us she could be due any time until November, but she's not showing any signs of pregnancy. This is our first Jenny, so we aren't sure what to look for. When do they start growing and showing signs, and is it still possible that she's pregnant??
Any helpful advice would be much appreciated! Thanks!
